Here’s a Web Site 101 Tip from Team Member Kendra Haskins of Kendra Haskins Design:

“Always view your site from the prospective of a visitor. They are not going to spend a lot of time digging through too much text or endless graphics to find what they are looking for.

“You need to make sure your site is simple to navigate and easy for visitors to find the information they need.

“Here’s a good rule of thumb: If the information is important it should be visible when the page first appears — don’t make people have to scroll down to find something or wade through fluff to get to the good stuff. If they have to work too hard to find what they’re looking for, they’ll probably move on to search somewhere else.”

Must time for spring cleaning… I know this because the weather is glorious, the azaleas are blooming (well, nearly), and everyone with allergies is beginning to sneeze and wheeze…

Unfortunately, along with spring and Peeps (guilty pleasure) and chicks and bunnies comes an age-old chicken and egg dilemma: What comes first? Dust then vacuum? Outside then inside? Organize the desk or clean out the closet? Or in my case today – redo the website or revamp the blog?

Well, at the risk of you visiting the site in its current disorganized state (I’ll claim I wasn’t expecting guests) I’m opting for the blog fix first… The old blog’s been trashed (um, perhaps some of it on accident I’ll confess), and so the look remains the same, but the content will be all new! If you’re a writer, you’ll want to stop by for a visit…

Stay tuned and I’ll be back in a flash, just as soon as I make the rest of these site fixes! ‘Til then, write on!
